L.
A. Schaefer Construction is a privately held company
founded in 1929. We specialize in institutional and
municipal construction and have provided construction
services for over 40 public owners: the cities of Ballwin,
Clayton, Crestwood, Des Peres, Hazelwood, Sunset Hills,
Town and Country; 28 area school districts; St. Louis
Community College, the State of Missouri and St. Louis
County. Additionally, we have built numerous churches
and healthcare facilities.
We
provide general contracting and construction management
services to clients in eastern Missouri. Our offices
are located in Chesterfield near the intersection of
Highways 40 and 141. Each project has a satellite office
to coordinate daily construction activities with the
corporate support staff in the Chesterfield office.
The
success of our company is based on 73 years of client
service, a dedication to excellence in construction
and a corporate philosophy based on the team approach
to construction. Each project, large or small, has the
personal attention of one of the company owners, and
no building program is complete until the client is
satisfied with their facility. As a result, we have
a long list of satisfied clients, many of whom are repeat
clients.
Several
projects have received national and regional recognition.
The Center of Clayton received "Construction News
and Review's" 2001 Regional Excellence Award; The
Pointe at Ballwin Commons was judged the nation's best
new municipal recreation center, earning the "Athletic
Business" Facility of Merit Award, and "Construction
News and Review's" Readers' Choice Award; and Troy
Buchanan High School received a national award for excellence.
Our
role as the construction professional requires a full
understanding of construction practices and good coordination
skills to interact with the owner and other team members
for successful project delivery. We have established
long-lasting, professional relationships with contractors
throughout the area and have been honored four times
by The American Subcontractors Association as a nominee
for Contractor of the Year Award.
